MEET THE TEAM

Charles E. Johnson, DDS

Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, and upon graduation was selected for membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He then completed a General Practice Residency with the U.S. Public Health Service. In 1975, he received a full-time faculty appointment at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine where he served in the Department of Restorative Dentistry—Section of Fixed Prosthodontics. After he and Dr. Silva opened their dental practice in Chesterfield in 1978, Dr. Johnson continued at SIU-SDM with a part-time faculty appointment until 1997. In addition to teaching crown and bridge, he was also responsible for the cosmetic dentistry curriculum. He volunteered with the American Diabetes Association for many years. He was involved with fund-raising, co-sponsored an adult support group for nine years, and served and held office on both the St. Louis and Missouri Boards of Directors. Dr. Johnson is married and enjoys gardening and woodworking in his spare time.

Marc R. Sattovia, DMD

Dr. Sattovia joined Chesterfield Dental Associates, Inc. in the summer of 2006. A cum laude graduate of Southern Illinois University, he received the JR Schmidt Award and the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration Award while in college. He’s an active participant in the Give Kids a Smile program and volunteered with a dental humanitarian mission to Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2005. In his free time, Dr. Sattovia enjoys golf, baseball, football, soccer and gardening.

Herbert P. Silva, DMD

Dr. Silva earned his dental degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1977 and joined Chesterfield Dental Associates, Inc. the following year. A former USMC officer and Vietnam veteran, Dr. Silva is a frequent lecturer at area schools during National Dental Health Month and is a participant in the St. Louis Area Stand Down Committee for Homeless Veterans and the Give Kids a Smile program. One of Dr. Silva’s top hobbies is soccer, as he is a referee administrator for professional soccer, instructor for high school and college and is a national referee instructor and national referee assessor for the United States Soccer Federation. Married with four children, Dr. Silva is also a marathon runner and a Harley Davidson enthusiast.
